DSCRD

DSCRD (a.k.a. Discordance) is an electronic music band born in Paris in 2008 and composed of five persons. The technical and artistic skills of the collective mainly concern the field of sound design, techniques of sound (music and videos), but also extend to development and programming software.
Any musical performance by the group is naturally shaped by these tools, which enrich their sound palette. That’s how they create a music who’s no longer than a mere entertainment “commodity”. It is rooted in a much broader experience, or concepts of repetition, sound object, image, acoustic, soundscapes, anecdotal intrusion, all intended to destroy the musical and social limits of the event, break the temporality, disorient and disrupt a musical style, a fad formatted. It is about techno music but who's not confined merely to sound synthesis, musical instrument pickup or a particular investigation; for an experimental music.

+ Ligovskoï

In 2010 Nikolaï Azonov and Valerio Selig created Ligovskoï, an electronic music project based in Paris between ambient, drone and experimental. They create a touching, minimalist and cinematographic atmosphere helped by acoustic and digital tools
such as synthesizers, voice, field recording and sampling. For a deep and hypnotic invitation during their live.
Invited in 2011 by the parisian label Silicate, to participate in the projet “Outland”, a compilation inspired by the eponymous science fiction film, they produced a live for the first time in Kobe, situated in Ivry, where their collaboration with Dement3d begins. Meanwhile, they released "Samothrace", an album composed of long and scalable minimum sound tracks on the new Kyoto label ILYA.

+ Heartbeat

Co-founder of DEMENT3D with Francois X, Heartbeat has played a major role in setting the esthetic foundations of the label, and nourishing the burgeoning parisian scene with both activism and a rich and diverse musical culture.
Heartbeat is more of a restless, eclectic trouble maker. His forthcoming releases in 2016 - an EP for Dawn Records and another for DEMENT3D will prove this point.
In the meantime, imagine one of his all-night long sets starting very slow, with dub and experimental jazz, gaining pace with low-bpm industrial techno, a few synth-punk or sometimes disco surprises here and there, slowly building towards an experimental techno frenzy, to be ended in fireworks with absolute classics of any styles...
Another focus for him has been live performances, especially as duos, with Voiski as HBTVSK or Fossil Moth (member of DSCRD) as HBTFM. Those collaborations will also lead to new record releases in 2016, and ever more intense performances.

+ In Aeternam Vale

Essentially the project of a single man, Laurent Prot, In Aeternam Vale was created in Lyon in 1983 under the heavy influence of punk-rock, Kraftwerk and cold industrialism.
Bridging EBM, proto-techno and synthesised dark pop, Laurent Prot was making music in the 80s being recently reinterpreted (by the likes of Silent Servant, Regis and James Ruskin) as equally or more important than Detroit’s influence on the current electronic music landscape.

+ Polar Inertia

Polar Inertia is a hazy entity formed in 2010, appearing at first as an electronic music act. Operating like a White-Out, they have built up a fog that surrounds the nature of their activities. Beyond the music and the records, the members of Polar Inertia are
also the authors of texts, photographic works, printed artworks, videos and specific live performances for different contexts. They have often been invited to contribute to various revues, editions or art books. Their course of creation thus takes the direction of a polymorphic artistic process, bound to evolve in various fields of contemporary creation.

+ François X

Co-founder of the label with Heartbeat, Francois X has steadily established himself as a key character in the burgeoning techno movement in Paris. DJ and producer, his unique musical style, whether alone or as Hiss:1292 (his collaborative project with
Opuswerk) puts the listener into a hypnotic trance by its cinematic and vivid atmosphere. His solo “Suspended In A Statis Field EP” on DEMENT3D was one of the label’s biggest hits. Later, his track “Rising” for MDR also appeared in Marcel Dettmann’s Fabric 77.
His consistently exceptional DJ sets secured Francois X a residence at Concrete, the world-famous parisian party, as well as regular slots at some of Europe’s leading clubs and festivals including Berghain.

dement3d

The Paris-based collective, led by Heartbeat & Francois X , has made a name for itself with powerful and bold aesthetics, and introducing some of the French capital’s most prominent electronic acts since 2011. DSCRD, Polar Inertia, Ligovskoï, Hiss:1292, have all debuted and evolved hand-in-hand with DEMENT3D, thus infusing their own genres and sensibilities into the label’s catalog.
Consequently, DEMENT3D stands more for an attitude rather than for a musical style in itself, with a wide-open set of genres and influences : from DSCRD’s experimental excursions rooted in “musique concrète” to Ligovskoï’s purest ambient drones.
In 2016, the family is growing, as the label will announce a handful of ambitious projects, among which : a double album by In Aeternam Vale, a collaborative double EP by Antigone & Francois X, a double EP by Voiski, and new projects by Hiss:1292 and Ligovskoï, with remixes by Peder Mannerfelt, Abdulla Rashim, and Polar Inertia.
