Photography exhibition, video, literary work, performance: students aged 13 to 16 engage in a dialogue with Lithuanian culture and showcase their work at the Gaîté Lyrique.
“If X was Y” is a series of educational videos initiated by the School of Creativity and created by the representatives from Lithuania’s contemporary art and cultural scene—Manfredas, Lina Lapelytė, and B-Girl Nicka— who interpret key phenomena of Lithuanian cultural identity using their preferred artistic mediums: the Baltic Way, Kaunas’ modernist architecture, and the Fluxus movement.
This educational initiative also invited classes and extracurricular clubs from schools in three regions of France (Hauts-de-France, Normandy, and Rhône-Alpes) to collaborate on group creative projects following the same concept of “If X was Y.” Their creative results include formats such as a photo exhibition, a short video, a literary work, or a performance (theater, dance). Together with the presentation of video lessons, these projects, created by students aged 13 to 16, will be presented at a gathering at La Gaîté Lyrique, marking the conclusion of the Lithuania Season in France.
