Keep Portland Weird
Visuel : Crash America

Portland, cradle of American underground music, comes to Paris, Metz and Nantes in a ten-day takeover combining indie revolt and environmental activism

From the 19th to the 29th April 2012, at La Gaîté Lyrique and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Centre Pompidou-Metz and Le Lieu Unique in Nantes

Portland at La Gaîté Lyrique

Following Istanbul in September 2011 and Berlin in April 2011, Portland is coming to La Gaité Lyrique, from the 24th to the 29th April 2012. Artistic profusion, musical diversity, environmental activism, a non-conformist state of mind, Portland isn't like other cities...

La Gaîté Lyrique welcomes the spirit of Portland for 5 evenings of concerts: carte blanche goes to Portland musicians Stephen Malkmus and Tara Jane O'Neil, Slimkid3 (formerly of The Pharcyde) stars in a "Portland Groove" hip-hop night, we accept an invitation from Portland music festival MusicfestNW and to finish up there'll be the Glass Candy club special programmed by the PICA - Portland Institute of Contemporary Art.

Also note, Experimental ½ hour, the Channel 22 cable TV collaborative programme showcasing the Portland avant garde will be broadcast in Paris for the first time throughout the Keep Portland Weird week.

KEEP PORTLAND WEIRD at La Gaîté Lyrique also consists of graphics from Crash America, one of the city's prominent music graphics artists.
