For 5 days ‚ from 2 to 6 March, 2011 - la Gaîté lyrique invites the public to explore the building, welcomed by the installations of the British group UVA (UnitedVisualArtists) and guided through the spaces by the networked performances providing a human interface between the building and the visitors, created by the French duo I Could Never Be A Dancer. The public will participate equally in the new creation - for the first time in France - by Rimini Protokoll (Helgard Haug & Stefan Kaegi): Best Before ...
During the all week, in some Gaîté lyrique's space, a selection of videoclips by onedotzero and Richard Fenwick are presented.
A string of more than 20 concerts will be played during these 5 days.
The opening is a snapshot of a year at la Gaîté lyrique and the culmination of projects by resident artists, some of whom have been here since December 2010.
