The digital shift in our lives has of course allowed us to stay in touch despite the lessening of irl interactions, but it also opens up the reflection on new issues (how to rethink entire areas of our cultures and the economies that support them?) and points out the importance of some that we were not yet sufficiently concerned about (hyper-surveillance, artificial intelligence developed faster than the answers to the ethical questions it raises...). Alternating analysis of these difficulties and discovery of emerging alternatives, the Gaîté Lyrique Lab brings together artistic and scientific research to better decipher a future that is already very present. Each month, two sessions broadcast live allow us to discover these thoughts in motion and offer the opportunity to discuss with those who unveil other horizons: we talk about peer-to-peer networks, traditional African knowledge embodied in communication technologies, AI ethics and the explosion of crypto-art. The Lab also opens its doors to partners through The Labo invites and [AFK] Away From Keyboard, the arts and technologies think tank of the Gaîté Lyrique, which offers companies interdisciplinary reflection on our times and on the technological transformations underway in order to draw up avenues for social and societal innovation.
