Workshop every tuesday from 7:00 to 9:30pm

In conjunction with the exhibition Motion Factory, les ficelles du monde animé, La Gaîté Lyrique is inviting KinoFabriK, the organization that introduces young and old people alike to animated filmmaking.  From April 24 to August 10, during the entire length of the exhibit, in the Petite Salle (small room), a permanent film studio has been set up for you to discover: Kino Factory!! It is open to all aspiring filmmakers regardless of their age, during the days and hours the exhibition is open.

KinoFabriK is a Paris organization that offers a whole set of activities to amateur filmmakers that help them discover the universe of “frame by frame.”

Come and be part of the first participatory animation film made frame by frame in Stop Motion!

Around a set that is constantly changing, a chase is improvised between pre-existing characters and the ones created by the participants. The camera moves in a circle around the set in order to create the impression of an endless traveling shot.  Following the principle of the “exquisite corpse,” animators complete each day work that was begun the day before.  The progress of the film and the image of the set are projected non-stop on the walls of the room so that each person can understand what the film shoot involves before deciding whether or not to participate.

Workshops for older participants (ages 15 and up) are also being held to help you improve your skills in the different techniques of animated filmmaking.
